DESCRIPTION
This viola is crafted on a personal Gasparo da Salò model. The two-piece top is of broad-grained European spruce, broadening toward the flanks.
The two-piece back is of strongly flamed European maple, cut on the quarter. The curl is broad and ascends toward the right. The back is further distinguished by decorative inlay featuring arabesque patterns. The ribs and scroll are made from similar wood.
The instrument is finished with an orange-brown varnish and is lightly antiqued.
