Job Summary
We are seeking a highly capable, organised, and discreet Operations Associate to join us in a full-time, long-term role. This position sits at the heart of the studio and family business and is ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, variety, and working closely with leadership in a small, values-led organisation.
The role centres on ensuring the smooth daily operation of the business — including administration, bookkeeping, coordination, and systems — while also providing executive and family support to Gregg Alf. The associate will act as a trusted point of continuity across business and family domains, handling sensitive matters with care and professionalism.
This is not a narrow administrative role. For the right candidate, it offers meaningful responsibility, client-facing interaction, and clear potential to grow into broader operational or managerial responsibilities over time
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Administration
Manage day-to-day administrative operations of the studio and company
Handle bookkeeping and financial administration (essential)
Manage invoicing, payments, expense tracking, and cashflow oversight
Work confidently with Xero and Google Sheets
Coordinate with external accountants, advisors, and service providers
Manage contracts, records, and key documentation
Oversee scheduling, logistics, and internal coordination
Take ownership of projects and see them through independently
Executive & Family Support
Provide executive assistant support to Gregg Alf and the Alf family
Handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and care
Support family projects, including:
investment and asset administration
coordination around a highly sensitive project involving the sale of an important antique stringed instrument
Act as a trusted operational anchor across business and family needs
Client & External Interaction
Communicate professionally with musicians, clients, and international partners
Represent the studio with warmth, clarity, and discretion
Support international operations and relationships
Desired Candidate Requirements
Values alignment matters most but the following are some traits we’re looking for:
Junior–mid career professional (typically late 20s to early 30s)
Strong organisational skills; calm, reliable, and fast on their feet
Proven bookkeeping or accountancy experience
Confident using Xero, Google Sheets, and Google Workspace (or able to learn quickly)
Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility
Emotionally intelligent, discreet, and trustworthy
Clear written and spoken English
Based in or near London, with flexibility for hybrid work
Internationally minded and open to relocation in the future
Comfortable in a small, close-knit, family-business environment
Visa sponsorship is available for an exceptional candidate.
Growth & Long-Term Outlook
The organisation is expected to remain relatively flat for the next 18–24 months. For the right person, there is clear scope to grow into broader operations leadership or management responsibility as the business evolves.
Within the next 3–5 years, the family and business are likely to relocate to a quieter environment outside London. Ideally, this role would grow into that next chapter with us.
Compensation
Salary: £3,000–£3,500 gross per month (commensurate with experience)
Employment: Full-time, long-term
Working style: Hybrid (regular in-person presence required)
Our Working Values
We take a values-first approach to work. We believe in music, fine stringed instruments, artisanal craftsmanship, conviviality, and community. We value deep focus, care, dedication, and efficiency, and aim to create working environments that are emotionally healthy, communicative, transparent, and supportive of personal and spiritual development.
This is a role of trust. Over time, the right person will become part of our extended family.
